Since we are still wishing we were on holiday, we wanted to keep to the travel theme and share with you an item we, without fail, pack into every suitcase.
BOOKS!
Nothing beats laying in the sun and escaping to another world with the help of an amazing book.
We’ve pulled together a few of our favourites and a few new books that we are dying to read!
Do you take books along on your travels? What are your favourites?

The Outlander Series – Diana Gabaldon
Luckily for us this is also now a TV series. These books are rather hefty in size but so worth adding the extra weight to your luggage. Such an amazing love story, very hard to put down so perfect for a day at the beach.
Big Little Lies – Liane Moriarty
Again, this book has now been turned into a mini series staring Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman. It is an amazing read and the series is really good too. We are strong believers that books are normally always better than the TV/Movie but this doesn’t disappoint. Mystery surrounds these women and the book keeps you hooked till the very last page.
To Kill a Mockingbird – Lee Harper
An oldie but a goodie, this classic novel is definitely a must read if you haven’t already!
Memoires of a Geisha
This book is on our list to read, we have only heard amazing things about it.
Blind Faith- C J Lyons
If you like a good crime novel with a twist, then Blind Faith should be next on your list! This is the first of three books that follow FBI agent Caitlyn Tierney. I’ve read all three of these twice and just love them!
The Lovely Bones- Alice Sebold
Another classic thriller/crime novel that has also been turned in to a movie! We appreciate the amazing effort made by our very own Peter Jackson, but we have to say that we do prefer the book.
Harry Potter & The Philosopher’s Stone
Now you all might get a giggle about this being on our list, but seriously if you have seen the movies but not read the books then you definitely should! Plus there are so many books that you’ll always have something to read next.
