How To Where White Dresses Without Looking Like A Bride!

Recently I (Emma) had a company black tie ball that I had to attend, so I decided to buy a cute little pink lace gown online. Unfortunately when my package arrived it wasn’t that gorgeous pink lace dress I had purchased, but a gorgeous WHITE lace dress. Due to time constraints I had to keep the dress and although stunning it made me feel like I was about to walk down the aisle!
So I thought I’d do a really quick blog post with my top 5 tips on how you can style and wear a white dress without looking like a bride!

Tip 1
Jewellery- If you think of your traditional bridal jewellery, it’s usually the very dainty silver/gold sparkly pieces that a bride would wear (usually not all the time). So think outside the box and if you’re wanting to wear something gold/silver then make it big! For me I found an amazing pair of big sparkly earrings from Forever New!
Tip 2
Makeup- Again when you think of bridal make up its all about soft, natural tones. So why not try something a bit dark and sultry? If that’s not your thing and you’re all about the natural tones then why not try and add a bright lip colour into the mix. A red colour always goes down a treat!
Tip 3
Shoes- For those of you that have a dress that is made only ankle length (or floor), then add a bright pair of heels to the mix!
Tip 4
Hair- Styling your hair is always tricky. For me I’d stay away from the up do’s that could potentially make you look more like a bride. A half up, half down look or even a side style would look amazing depending on the style of your dress.
Tip 5
Bag- I used a bright coloured over the shoulder bag with a gold chain to counter-balance the white lace. But because you’re wearing white, any bright coloured bag would go down a treat.
