Every year we eagerly await the Met Gala (AKA Met Ball) to see what all the stars are wearing, this being the Oscars of the Fashion world. The Met Ball is the one red carpet where we see everyone dress to a theme, the theme this year being “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology”.

This year is the 70th anniversary of the event which is held to raise funds for the annual budget of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City. The Gala marks the grand opening of the opening of the institute’s annual fashion exhibit.

Since a ticket to the event can cost upwards of $25,000 and you also need approval to attend by the Vogue Queen herself, Anna Wintour, we will settle for gazing at the beautiful gowns from the comfort of our homes.

Selena Gomez – I’m sorry we just can’t get over the shoes.

Sarah Jessica Parker – We were waiting for her amazing head-piece, sadly nothing this year. She also reminds us somewhat of a pirate.

Maria Sharapova – Not an awful dress but it just swims on her, she could have done so much better.

Demi Lovato – Make-up on point, neck down – awful.
