Most of you if not all of you will be back at work this week after the Christmas/New Year holidays. If you’re anything like us, the struggle is real and we would much rather be outside in the sunshine. If only it was certain that one could win the Lotto….
Anyways, we thought we would impart our wisdom on you all and help with how to survive being back at work. Don’t get us wrong, we don’t hate our jobs all of the time but who wouldn’t love to either be relaxing at home or traveling around doing whatever you please?!
Plan a Holiday
This is our number 1. You always need something to look forward to whether it be a local getaway for a long weekend or a big overseas trip. We are already planning out our year with trips to Wellington, Melbourne and further abroad.
There’s nothing like catching up with friends after the long break away, so why not schedule some lunch dates to all your favourite eateries? This way you’ll have something to look forward to and it also breaks your day up!
Do some online shopping
We get ours delivered to work so if we have something on its way to us it makes coming into work a little bit more exciting. PLUS have you seen all the amazing sales at the moment!!!
Get a hobby
If you don’t already have an after work or weekend hobby then maybe try doing something you are interested in this year. If all you do is work, work, work, it’s going to become very dull and boring very quickly. If you have something fun to do after work or in the weekends it makes things generally more enjoyable. We are thinking of doing a few photography courses this year, we love photographing content for our blog and socials so its a great fit for us!
Join a Gym
We know it’s definitely a bit of a roll your eyes tip, BUT we highly recommend it. Whether you’re looking to get fit or just looking to let off a bit of steam, going to the gym before, during or after work can make you feel a whole lot better (hello as Elle Woods taught us – “exercise releases endorphins and endorphins make you happy” LOL) and if you go in your lunch break it gets you out of the office (or whereever your workplace is).
We hope that you get a little bit of inspiration from some of our tips, if you’ve got some great advice as well then let us know! We’d love to hear how you survive going back to work.
