Wellington foodies were out in force this weekend with The Food show rolling into town. Held at the Westapc Stadium, this annual event showcases some of the capital’s finest cuisine and gives the public the opportunity to sample and buy these products, usually at a discounted show price.
We were lucky enough to go along to the event on Sunday to experience the excitement and of course the delicious food and drink that was on offer. From gluten free to diary free, meat lovers to vegetarian- there was literally something for everyone!
They also had live food demonstrations over the three days that covered a variety of different cooking styles and were demonstrated by some of Wellington/New Zealand’s best chefs like Ray McVinnie, Simon Gault and Martin Bosley. We managed to get along to see Ray’s “At home in the kitchen” demonstration, which was fantastic.
Overall we had a fantastic day filled with lots of laughs and came home with a very full food bag!! If you didn’t catch the show this year then make sure you don’t miss out in 2017. We can’t wait for next year to do it all again!
