Wow can you believe that it’s 2016 already?  Where did the past year even go?  It was pretty full on for many of us so 2016 please be kind, generous, fun, adventurous and loving to us all.

Like most people we’ve already started to think about our goals for this coming year, but pinning down a few good ones that we know we’ll stick to is really hard!

If you don’t know where to start with your list, we’ve put together some ideas for those of you needing some motivation for this new and exciting year ahead.

2016- Healthy living

We think that this has to be one of the most popular goal’s when it comes to resolutions.   Whether you stick to it or not, at some point you would have had this in the back of your mind.  So why not make this the year that you follow through and start 2016 feeling physically and mentally better!

For those of you with this on your list, here are some tips on staying on track.

1) Plan for bumps on the road to a healthier you.  Nothing is ever going to be straight forward in life, you’re no doubt going to slip up and have that greasy cheeseburger at 2am some weekends, so make sure you’re not to hard on yourself and if you fall off the horse, dust yourself off and get back on. Don’t make your goals too unrealistic remember you want this to be a lifestyle not a get skinny quick diet. Fit and healthy is the goal.

2) Keep a food journal- We actually use the My Fitness Pal App and find this really good.  Before we put anything in our mouths (well most of the time) we will quickly scan the back of the package which then gives us a breakdown of how bad or good that food item is!  Really makes you stop and think about things before you eat them and then end up feeling sorry for yourself afterwards.

3) Have a support system in place.  No one’s perfect so that’s why it’s great to have someone there for you to support you and get you through the tough times.  If you don’t have anyone in person then think about joining an online health blog or something similar so you can connect with people like yourself. Working out with a friend or colleague is also a great way to keep on track, it’s always a lot harder to get out there and exercise if you’re on your own.

New Year, New Job

If you have been putting off your hunt for your next job opportunity, this is your time to get things rolling.  The market out there at the moment is fairly quiet (which is completely normal for the very start of the year), so while things are still warming up get your CV up to date and start having a think about what kind of job that you’d like to find and in what industry.

The more passion you have for a job or a certain industry, the more successful you’ll be in that role.

Plan A Holiday!

Planning a holiday, near or far, is a great way to start the new year.  Not only will this give you something to look forward to, it will also give you motivation to save money!

Most people that know us know how much we LOVE to travel. Whether it’s a trip over the ditch to see the bff or somewhere further afield, the feeling of planning each destination is so exciting.

So for those of you who have been thinking about taking the leap for a while, now is a great time to get started!

Don’t know where to go?  Take some time to really think about what you’re interested in…… shopping? history?  and then either go and talk to your local travel agent OR just get on Google to explore your options.

Back in 2011 Emma did a Contiki tour around Europe and she can hand on heart say that it was the best thing that she ever did and it really kick started her love of seeing different places in the world.

Similarly Jane travelled across America in 2013 from LA to New York and has been itching to go back ever since.

So what are you waiting for?  We’ve already got our travel planner ready for our 2016 travel adventures!  Tell us about yours in the comments below and if you have any questions let us know and we’ll do our best to answer them.

Up-skill yourself!

Have you ever wanted to do something like play an instrument, start a sport or learn a new skill like photography? Why not try something new in 2016?

Sometimes life just gets away on us, till before you know it you don’t have time to start something you’ve always dreamed of doing.

Make a list of a those exciting new hobbies and pick one that you’re going to start this year, you’ll be thankful that you did it.

So overall what ever you decide on we hope that 2016 brings you everything that you desire.
